Activision and Treyarch studios announced the new chapter of a cult game series: Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The game will be a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, released in 2012, and will take players back to that universe where chaos and technological wars brought humanity to the brink of survival.
Black Ops 7: A New Challenge in 2035
The story of the game will take place in 2035 and the main character will be played by actor Milo Ventimiglia, known from the TV series “Heroes”. Black Ops 7 will combine future war technologies and ethical dilemmas with the dark and mysterious atmosphere of the Black Ops series.
Raul Menendez Returns: A Digital Threat
One of the details that caught the players’ attention the most was the return of Raul Menendez, the archenemy of Black Ops 2, as a digital avatar. Menendez's actions will once again pose a global threat. Developers state that Menendez's return will further increase the complexity and depth of the Black Ops universe.
Gameplay Innovations: Jetpacks, Wall Runners, and Battle Robots
After a long time, jetpacks and wall running mechanics will be featured in the series for the first time. Players will battle both human and war robot opponents. These add-ons will offer players a more dynamic and tactical gaming experience.
A New Dimension with Collaboration Mode
Another important feature of Black Ops 7 is the co-op campaign mode. Thanks to this mode, players will be able to experience the story with their friends. The co-op mode is designed to emphasize tactical coordination and teamwork. The developers predict that the co-op mode will significantly increase the replayability of the game.
Cast Expands
The cast includes Kiernan Shipka (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) as Emma Kagen and Michael Rooker (“The Walking Dead”) will reprise his role as David Mason's ally Mike Harper. The story follows an elite Black Ops team fighting against a mysterious enemy that uses fear as a weapon. Players will encounter familiar faces and meet new characters.
Release Date and Platforms
The game is planned to be released on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Game Pass in the fall of 2025. The full gameplay video of the game will be released in the summer and the developers will share additional details. Thanks to high-resolution graphics, immersive sound effects and optimized performance, Black Ops 7 aims to deliver an ultimate gaming experience across all platforms.
