Viber messenger will get the option to disappear messages in group chats. Before that, the opportunity was available only for personal correspondence. The deletion timer is designed for ten seconds, minutes, hours or days.
Owners of mobile devices with Android 6 and above on board cannot send, copy and take screenshots of deleted messages. Owners of previous versions of Android and any version of iOS will receive notifications in these cases. The function will become available for exchanging photos and stickers.
The update will allow users to choose what information they want to keep in their correspondence. Also, due to less message volume, it will be easier to find the necessary information in correspondence.
According to Nedav Melnik, vice president of development at Rakuten Viber, the introduction of the new function will further increase the privacy of users' data and increase communication security.
